Henkel’s Bonderite C-IC 104 (was Novaclean 104) is a clear colourless acidic light etch cleaner liquid for aluminium, effectively combining the functions of clean, de-oxidise, etch and de-smut stages in one operation at low temperatures. It is ideal as a pre-treatment for chromate conversion coatings, brightening, painting and powder coating of aluminium. Bonderite C-IC 104 is low foaming, and does not give rise to scale or sludge in etch tanks or generate fumes or caustic spray into the working environment. It will provide a uniform matt finish over a wide concentration range, with a low level of metal removal, this not only conserves the product, but also aids effluent disposal. In comparison to other caustic etchants, Bonderite C-IC 104 provides savings in energy. Bonderite C-IC 104 is acidic formulated from mixture of acids – contact with eyes, skin and clothing should be avoided, and protective clothing, rubber gloves, goggles, face shield, etc, should be worn.
